Glossary:Investment - EPEA

Print this page

Gross fixed capital formation (GFCF) and net acquisition of non-financial, non-produced assets for environmental protection may also be referred to as environmental protection investment. GFCF is the acquisition (less disposal) of fixed assets for environmental protection activities. Fixed assets are produced assets used in production for more than one year. Net acquisitions of non-produced non-financial assets correspond to the acquisitions by resident producers, less disposals, of non-produced non-financial assets, i.e., assets that have not been produced within the production boundary and that may be used in the production of goods and services (European System of Accounts 2010 (§ 3.124)).

The main example relevant for EPEA is Land. EPEA reports GFCF and NP together.
